So! I said I would update forever ago, didn't I? Oops. >_> Anyway. At the moment I'm at the condo, enjoying it for the first time in a very long time. (Since October, I think.) The weather's perfect, we went swimming earlier and will probably go again later. Not sure how I'm going to get home tomorrow, as I have work at 5:45. Lame, work.
In other news, this summer so far has been filled with trips to Disneyland, Hollyweird, and bumming around Pasadena and Arcadia with the crazies. Disneyland is happening again next week, for miss Ashley's birthday. :D It's hard to believe that my birthday is in less than a month, now.
Oh, again in other news, I finally watched Howl's Moving Castle, and read it, too. Giggling ensued when we realized that Howl was voiced by Christian Bale. That honestly just makes the movie MORE awesome. I have Castle in the Sky checked out from the library right now, need to watch it before Monday. In musicals -- FINALLY listened to Next to Normal and 9 to 5, now they are not coming off my iTunes for a long while. Still waiting for Hair, I need to go over to Nicel's and steal it from her. I also finally got the DVD of Rent: Live on Broadway. Speaking of other musical-related things, planning a trip up to San Francisco next month to see Wicked. It will be epic. And crazy. As most things with the crazies are. (And Rent! In Costa Mesa! In October! HURRAH.)

Here am I, in the school library, killing time before TV production. Clearly the thing to do here is update Ye Olde LJ. So, I shall have at!
Denver! Spring break was fun. Da and I drove out to Denver, which mostly involved driving through the desert at night (thank goodness for that, it was so cool). We stopped at Arches State Park in Utah to geek out over awesome red rocks, and took a lot of pictures. Then from there we headed to Grand Junction (for CO maps) and from there to Leadville. Leadville, for those of you who don't know, is an awesome little old mining town in the mountains. It is at about 10,800 feet and full of all these old cool buildings and an opera house that Oscar Wilde visited! Also the home of a restaurant where they have filet mignon four nights a week from $7.95-$15.95. It was tasty and delicious, and you got salad and a potato too! We stayed in Leadville for a night and then went down to Denver, to stay at my grandma's. This mostly consisted of going out to dinner (A LOT) and going to a nifty little art exhibit in Golden. I wanted to make a stop at the Coors Brewery there, but maybe next time. Somehow, I don't think my grandma would have appreciated a beer-tasting. We also met up with some of my dad's friends who happened to be in Denver, and explored cool parks. After hanging around Denver for a few days, we headed up to Eagle to see baby Lucita and her older brother, Gage. Lucy is adorable. ^____^ Yay babies! Then we started driving again, and met up with
dizmo Saturday morning, and there was geeking over Neil Gaiman and comics and the Superdictionary. So that was a fun spring break.
If I felt like boring you more, I would talk about the LA Book Festival (we saw Michael J Fox!), Disneyland, and Ren Faire, but this entry is kinda long as it is. So maybe next time. For now, I go get more caffeine and food. ♥!

Ugh. Southern CA weather, why do you have to be so insane? It is not allowed to be 100 in April. I do not approve. However, I do approve of spring break. I have been lazing around the house since Friday, it's quite relaxing.
Let's see -- uh, had one-acts earlier this month. There was a minor disaster on the day of the first show -- our light girl didn't show up, and I had no idea how to run a light board, soooo our sound guy and myself taught ourselves how to run and reprogram the board. Other than that, the show went well. I was supposed to have an ASM job for a production the Black Student Union was putting on, but it never happened. I am rather annoyed about that, as I was supposed to get PAID and the extra money could have gone to my Mandy Needs a New Laptop Fund. (Which, by the way, work is not helping much with, as I have been getting crap hours lately. Bah. :/)
Anyway, as I said, it's spring break. And I have been wanting to go to Denver for a long while, I haven't been out there in a year. So my dad and I are driving out there. We're leaving tonight after I get off work, so probably around midnightish. I will, however, be bringing my laptop, so that's gonna be fun. My car has been freshly washed, and I'm currently taking a break from packing. Pondering which books to bring, or maybe DVDs. I don't know yet. Anyway, I will hopefully be able to has a
dizmo on Saturday, when we're heading home. Aaaand next weekend shall be Ren Faire, and it will be fun, and I will hopefully not get too sunburnt.
